This week was a busy week. Between trying to get settled in my new office and first week of football, it was crazy. A little bit too much going on but really in all honesty I thrive on that! My ADD brain loves to be busy and live in chaos! I am going to try to get better at writing everyday even if it’s short. To just write a lesson learned, or a fun exciting thing that happened, or something inspirational. That’s my challenge for myself to you, my readers.

Today we are going to the Mariners game. We are going to the game. The game that is going to honor the best, if not one of the best, baseball players ever. Ken Griffey Jr. His number will be retired today! I have always loved this guy. His drive, his focus, his determination is or was phenomenal. I only hope that a small percentage of all of “that” that he has my kids will have one day. He is also very humble about his career. He will tell you he was that good because of the work he put in, it was a huge sacrifice he made, with huge pay off. He made it look easy because of his hard work. I am sure it was far from easy. Success in any venue takes dedication, work, perseverance, sacrifice and most of all desire to be better, or even desire to be the best, along with, at least a shred of, talent. You cannot be that successfull or that good without all of those things then add to it an amazing support team, great teammates and some luck and you have a Hall of Fame career. I am pretty sure Hall of Famers don’t try to be in the Hall of Fame. They try to be the best they can be everyday. Every. Single. Day! It takes all of “that” and maybe even more. 

So I say to you, moms, dads, workers, husbands, wives, and athletes, what are you doing today to be great? It takes 100% everyday, even your off days. Even when you don’t feel good, or your wife is being a bitch, in order for you to be a Hall of fame husband, you have to be good even then. That’s what makes most of us not Hall of Famers, we make excuses of circumstances and blame others for our actions. But that is what we can do to change the outcome. Put in the work, everyday! Even when your team sucks, even when you hate your coach or hate your boss or the client you are working with is doing everything he can to torpedo your efforts. DO YOUR BEST. ALL. THE. TIME. 

Will you be voted in the Hall of Fame. Maybe not, there are 3 people who didn’t vote for Griffey Jr and he is the best ever! HOF is court of public  opinion, but are your efforts everyday getting you closer? You are in control of just that, your effort! Put in Hall of Fame effort it, may look easy but making things look easy…is the opposite of easy!

Little League Opening Day

Opening Day for Little League today! Across the country and probably even the world all Little League organizations celebrated Opening Day. This year The Girl sang the National Anthem. She did great. She was so sweet and sounded so sweet. She got a lot of compliments. The Boy’s team played their first game. They lost, The Boy did great at the plate, had a few errors in the outfield. It was a good game!

After baseball we drove to look at a car to replace my mom’s car for her. She needs a new car. The Hubs and I want to help her out but kind of don’t. We don’t have a whole lot of money to help her. It makes it tough for us to decide what to do and how much to spend. Especially since her record with cars is to trash them. She doesn’t take very good care of her vehicles. But she drives our kids to and from practices more than occasionally so it important for her to have a safe car! Unfortunately the car we went to look at was not good. It is hard to find a nice car for under $3000. Hopefully soon we will!

After a day outside at baseball then driving over an hour to look for a car and driving back I am tired! It’s Saturday night though and that means I want to get freaky with my husband but I’m so tired! I need to grab a Rockstar drink or something and rally. I don’t know if we should go out or just stay home because if we go out chances are we (me) will get amped up while visiting with friends and then crash on the way home. Might be best to stay in and rally at home! We’ll see what the Hubs wants to do. This whole “adulting” with kids and trying to take care of Grandma too is tough and tiring. I want to dance and party and hang with my man and then fuck like we are 21…. But we are a bit older with preteens who are very active which means we are at the busiest parenting age! I will not give in though! We will keep our spark alive if it kills me (and it may) but for tonight…no excuse but fucking a little bit freaky!

Vacation Time Out

This is how this bartender travels! Yes, I brought enough lemons and limes for three friends, but who knows how many drinks I will want…I probably have more lemons and limes than Vodka!

I will grab some more vodka at home since we will be taking a timeout from vacation to take the Boy to football camp back home. A 2.5 hour drive each way for a 1.5 hour camp. Yes we are a crazy football family. Is this really news to anyone?

While we were home the girl went to her Gym class at dance and landed 9 aerials in a row! She could have gone longer but we were all ready to go to dinner! She has been working on it for a while and landed one orntwo last week but couldn’t repeat it… Well today she got it! 9 in a row!

We were here long enough for camp and gym and the went to dinner at our favorite restaurants in our town. I may have had enough wine to make me a little tipsy (2 glasses), enough to make me want to send the Hubs to get me more wine! But I won’t. We are watching the M’s game now and will send the kids to bed and tomorrow do some PeeWee things then take the Boy to his second and final day of camp and then head back to vacation at the Ocean!

Today was a great day before we left the Beach I had some Yoga on the beach the kids flew kites and drove RC cars. I got sunburned, the Hubs broke his RC car and fixed it…even though we spent a lot of the day driving we had a good vacation day!

Hoping to see LoMo hit a game winner right now …walked!!!! What?! Wild pitch!

This family is having fun even though we are at home and not in our trailer, I love vacation…even though we are at home we are all sitting together on the couch together, now waiting for Zunino to hit a walk off.  No one usually cares this much about baseball! It vacation back to the family! 

Zunino hits a base hit for the tie! Nice hit! We get extra innings!

Well today was the boy’s first All-Star game. They lost, sad day! But the Boy played a good game. The other team’s pitchers were really good! Much better than any we have seen all season! The Boy is playing Center Field. I tend to have crushes on Center Fielders, we can thank Ken Griffey Jr for that one! And of course my boy is my favorite Little Leaguer it is fitting that he is playing my crush position! All the kids did alright, I am super impressed with the Boy not that he was perfect but that he bounced back after every mistake and even after he struck out. I could see him react and want to get down and angry, then he shifted his attention to the next play or the next player coming up to bat and gave him a good luck high five. He has really matured in baseball this year. They tend to hang on every strike and ball or every out. They must learn they can’t live and die by every play..good or bad. It is a long game and it needs your full attention each and every play. Short memories and clean slates and focus! My boy did good at that today I am proud of him! Next game is Tuesday!

The Hub’s is currently working on putting a new microwave in for me. We have an over the range microwave and ours died this morning. So after baseball today we headed out to search for a new microwave. The one we had served us well! We put it in probably about 11 years ago. We redid our kitchen 9 years ago but did not need to replace the microwave then. There is nothing hotter

than watching my husband working on my house. I love seeing him with a tool in hand and installing things. He is not as much of a fan because everything is never level and he gets so frustrated that he can’t make it perfect. If he ever builds me a house we will have to start from the ground up and hire contractors with very thick skin and the passion for perfection like my husband! I love the dedication this man has for our family and for making sure we have the best of everything and it is not only done safe and correctly but it looks as good as it made! I haven’t even taken photos of him working. I know how much he hates it, I hope he doesn’t think I don’t care since I am not snapping a photo of my hottie working hard in the kitchen!

So, tonight is primed for a two a day night. This AM we got a little frisky in the shower. During football season we have a ritual before football games, unfortunately our ritual did not help today, our team still lost but that still means that we can have a two a day and be “plus one”`for July! Woohoo!!!!! Between watching him work and knowing how much he enjoys the idea of two a days it’s a shoe in that I am getting lucky tonight… or he is… we both are! Sunday Funday = Two-a-day!

Looking forward to a fun week of baseball. The kids leaving for Yellow Stone (depending on baseball we may only lose one kid this week). So a bit of a break is coming soon which is good it will give me time to catch up and organize a bit and maybe by the time they are back I can have a better routine in place for this newly working mommy/homemaker self and get everything organized better! I love my life!

White Baseball Pants Are Like Stilettos

Happy Monday! Today for me was an office day, four massages, I left the kids with a list of chores and guess what? They did them! Yay! Today is picture day for the All-Star team, they (the coach) decided on white pants! Seriously?! White pants should just be off white or cream color because that is what they will be by the time they get to the field..or is that just how MY boy is? Well, they are just pants they have these cool things called washing machines and I am putting you all on notice buy stock in Clorox the Boy is wearing white baseball pants!

Let’s explore this topic for a second! The decision to make white baseball pants must be because someone really liked the color cream or even brown with green streaks! Who ever in their right mind thought white baseball pants were ever a good decision? When baseball started hundreds of years ago were there even such a thing as a washing machine? There definitely wasn’t bleach! Maybe that is why bleach was invented!

Earlier today I was talking to a friend, we were talking about how men just don’t understand how long house work takes. They think things just magically happen. It is as easy as “put it away when you are finished” which yes, sometimes it is, but for example laundry takes longer than that. You start a load of laundry and fold and put away an hour or so later. If you are a busy mom (and who’s not?) you are starting laundry running to take the kids to school grocery store and then coming home put groceries away take out and fold laundry (if you remember it then) put it away or stack it if you’re trying to teach the kids to do somethings for themselves. Clean toilets if there is time, shower, again, only if there’s time and that day doesn’t include big chores like window washing or bathtubs! It just takes a lot of time to do this whole mom thing and the baseball coaches add white pants… Seriously?! Oh well it is life.

Clorox and a bleach pen will be my best friend during this season! When he gets out of the car at the start of the day his pants will be clean, which means I have to be caught up on laundry by the end of everyday so I can bleach wash the pants everyday of Districts and then State if we get there and then Nationals, wouldn’t that be fun…wait, that would be in a hotel or something…we’re buying more pants if we go to a tournament where we have to be in a hotel!

Guys just don’t understand!

White pants in baseball is like women wearing stilettos at a beach wedding! They look great and are fashinable but make absolutely no sense at all and in that case they are pretty fucking awesome!

Happy Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day! Shout out to the Hubs for being such a great provider, teacher, supporter and dad to our children. He is always there for us. He has had to sacrifice a lot of time and things and money to be THAT Dad that they, no we, need! He coaches, taxis, helps with homework, pays bills and make sure they have everything they need, all while taking care of all the adult things in life too! He is a great Dad and I am lucky to have him as my counterpart, my partner in this parenting thing! I love him and think tonight he will get an extra special treat when we close (and lock) our bedroom doors!

If you have a Dad, call or text or email or visit him and tell him how much you appreciate him. If you can be with him do something special for him! Have the children help do dishes and bring him sports illustrated and his slippers, let him have the remote, or something that will make him feel like today is a special day for him to relax. (Later, give his penis a mouth hug!) If you don’t have a Dad doing something special for a Dad. They all need us to remember them on Father’s Day!

We took the Hubs and my FIL to the Mariners Game! They lost but we had a blast. It was nice to be together! I love my family and am so glad I get to be married my children’s father and my best friend and love of my life!

I miss my Dad! Especially on days like today that are for being with your dad. I know he would be proud of me and my kids. I am glad I have the Hubs to hug when I miss him, it would be so much harder without him! I would have loved to take my dad to a Mariner’s game he would have loved it! Time to go give the Hubs a hug, for the appreciation I have fo him and for the comfort I get from him when I miss my dad. I just love that man!

Still Baseball Season with All Stars!!

Went to the Seahawks and USA Football Mom’s clinic today. One of my favorite Seahawks alumni was there Robbie Tobek! Was a great Center and anchored our Seahawks through the Superbowl 40/Mike Holmgren era! I was start struck and of course took a selfie with him, (which was the highlight if my night)! Also heard great lectures on Nutrition, and concussion management as well as a refresher on equipment fitting, then we got to get out on the field and run through some tackling drills. All in all it was a great time. I will do it again! Next time I will grab some moms from PeeWees and have a crew of us Wolfpack mommas.

While I was at the Mom’s clinic I missed closing ceremonies for baseball, and the announcement of the Boy getting selected for the baseball All-Star team!

He set a goal for that and he made it. The only sad part is that he may have to miss going to Yellowstone with his Grandparents… Wonder if they can postpone their reservations? The Boy made the decision to be 100% committed to the All-Star team no matter what though. Good on him for being committed. However, I did tell the league that he was not available for AllStars so I wonder why they selected him anyway… Makes a sticky situation in the family… It’s what he wants to do so he will play baseball! The one thing that will be nice is that The Hubs doesn’t have to coach. He can be the supportive dad! The Hubs will like that and I think the Boy will do well with maybe a little pressure off of him… Or maybe now there’s more…who knows. Better keep my baseball mom hat on for a little while longer I guess.

I am so ready for football! Especially after this Mom’s clinic! Can’t wait for kids to be strapping up the pads and hearing the sound of pads hitting pads and the whistle of the coaches drills, Give Me Two!!! (That’s how our coaches get the player’s attention.)

I am super excited to see another side of the Boy and baseball. I hope it is a good experience and I hope the Boy still gets to go on vacation with Gram and Gramps! A lot of unknown right now. Summer starting, new coach and new team, excitement and nerves boiling up in me already. Practice 6 days a week for now until the first game which is July 5 (or something). New Adventure upon us! I guess, all I can say is GO EASTERN!!!

Pre Birthday Sunday!

Happy Sunday Fun Day! Is it obvious that today has been busy. It has been fun though. We started with a baseball game. The Boy’s team played in their end of season interleague tournament. The won their second game in the tournament keeping them in the winners bracket! They play their next game on Tuesday against a team in our regular season league, we have played this team quite a few times and lost every time. It is a very well coached team. Our team is playing well together. Today’s game was probably their best this year, hopefully we can keep that energy going and kick butt Tuesday and keep it going!

Then we went to a birthday party for a friend of ours. His birthday was Thursday. He shares his birthday with my dad! Which of course gives him a special place in my heart! We had fun the kids played pool with daddy and I sat and chatted most of the time. And had my first birthday cake shot celebrating both our friend and my birthday! Happy Birthday!!!

So tomorrow is my birthday. I turn 36. I have loved all of my 30’s. 30s are fun but for some reason the number 36 is a bit daunting to me or something! I remember feeling about the same way when I turned 26 but still loved my 20s and survived the next 10 years. So I decided since it is my birthday and I have been having some problems following through with weight loss and dieting nand nutrition I am going to use my birthday as a reminder that I am not getting any younger and to get my health to place I want it to be for a long time I need to be more proactive and make better choices. I don’t know my specifics yet. As we all know I am the type that needs rules to follow so I can lose weight and so I can stay healthy. If I don’t have solid rules I tend to bend them too much and end up where I am at right now and that is not where I want to be. So other than my birthday party I am giving up alcohol for at least until after my next half marathon scheduled on June 13. Then who knows.

This is the first year in a while that I have not “pregamed my birthday! There have been many years we have gone out on the day before my birthday and at midnight is when we take a birthday shot or have a birthday drink or at least a birthday kiss. …..oooh I get birthday sex tomorrow too!!!! Yay me! But tomorrow morning I have to work at the massage office so I figure it would be a better idea to do it tomorrow night and for go the pre-birthday-gaming! The Hubs has his last night of school too. He teaches in the apprentice ship program for his industry and tomorrow is a final test so in theory he should be done early and we can celebrate that too! But you never know, we will see.

Anyway I am going to get back to couch time with the hubs and hopefully tomorrow I will have more purpose flu things to write but you know sometimes these nothing matters posts are fun. They are for anyway!
